Sorry all about not making it to the Feb. races. Transportation issues prevented my attendance just days prior to heading that way. My stepvan developed electrical issues rendering it unreliable to so far as make it back from the end of my driveway let alone to Savannah and back. My option was my Ranger which blew a head gasket the night prior to leaving. Arghh!!!!
Anyhow, it has been 4 months since the original post about possible inclusions/changes within the Vintage Bracket class. Can someone of authority please give an answer to: (1) Can we include Yamahas? (2) Can we permit "limited" bodywork? (3) Can we include Open/Ltd. Mod. 4 strokes as run on a sprint chassis? A simple yes or no on each would be great, or even a "wait until next year" since by now the season has already started. I imagine these changes/inclusions got swept under the rug in favor of other more popular local option class(es). Al |

Hopefully Dave will pitch ion. I owuld think since we had no entires for the class last race, whoever brings entries could steer the rules a bit:) Especially in a bracket format who cares if karts are mismatched a bit? Some bodywork would be nice. Peorsnally, my feelings are as long as it's old, it's all good.
Alan: Want a smokin deal on an old Dino Superkart? Its all there just needs a lot of TLC. As everyone knows, I've got WAY too many karts and that one is way down on the project list. |

| George. Did you notice the Zip superkart on Ebay. Looks like a great deal for a collector such as yourself. |

| Jeff: Now? Send me a link. There was one exactly like ours but it was way overpriced. Greg Mayr from Franklin Kart is looking for one too. I cold get him to buy it so I don't have to:) |

You and I both agree George. Smokin' deal 'eh? Gimme some details! I'm still wonderin' what to do with either the air or liquid cooled RM-125's OR the DT-250. Hmmm. Maybe? |

The 1" axle ruling I think is a WKC thing and not recognized by the SKC. I personally owned karts in the early '80's with 1 1/4 axles. Thanks in advance. :) Al |
My mags show the IKS Banzai (for instance) available in 1981 with choice of 1" OR 1.25" axle. IMO it should depend on the kart.
The frame rails were also a modern ("waisted" vs. "ladder") shape - both so the softer, wider tires would work instead of 'hopping.'
(JFYI)
Hopefully I can make RR in Oct. The trips have wrecked the van (those 'stops' on the way to the VIR Heacock Gold weekend, proved to be a camshaft preparing to break. All in all a bad hardware weekend) but if I can get there I'm promised a ride on track.
I will miss using my vintage Margay/LP2 splice (and especially the Sirio which stuck on the stand at VIR,) - but have to verify the newly rebuilt van's operability for trips first, before chancing heavy loads. And that's if it doesn't die locally before then. In that case I'll be looking for a ride to share driving and costs with someone from up here (Jersey? PA? WKC?)
Ed S., if you see this, give me a call to catch up ...
